Celebrity Litigation Turns Into Spectator Sport With Gladiator Ring Tactics

The legal battle between Justin Baldoni and his former costar Blake Lively is playing out on the public stage, and now we've got voice note receipts. The Daily Mail dropped a nearly 7-minute voice note from Baldoni to Lively where he can be heard apologizing for his reaction to changes she requested to their film It Ends with Us, which Baldoni directed and starred in.

"I'm really sorry. I f****d up. I will admit and apologize when I fail. I'm a very flawed man, as my wife will attest," Baldoni said in the voice vote, now part of the $400 million lawsuit Baldoni brought against Lively over her allegations, in addition to the $250 million lawsuit he brought against the New York Times over their reporting. This voice note allegedly followed a meeting Baldoni had with Lively, where he reacted poorly to script changes Lively worked out with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and best friend, Taylor Swift. In the voice note, Baldoni acknowledged their contributions, saying, "You've got great friends. We should all have friends like that, aside from the fact that they're 2 of the most creative people on the planet."

While Baldoni's team is aiming to be as transparent as possible, releasing things publicly, Lively's team is requesting a judge to muzzle Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, from releasing texts and email publicly ahead of their expected trial in March 2026.

Honestly, we haven't seen a celebrity feud like this in years, and it doesn't seem like it's going to be resolved anytime soon.

That's it for me today. I'll see you on Friday. In the meantime, keep scrolling for more entertainment news.

Why Has 'American Primeval' Angered the LDS Church?

By Ryan Smith

Netflix series American Primeval has come under fire from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), which has branded the show "dangerously misleading."

The six-part drama, which premiered on January 9, is directed by Peter Berg and includes Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin among its ensemble cast.

"This is America...1857," reads a summary of the series. "Up is down, pain is everywhere, innocence and tranquillity are losing the battle to hatred and fear. Peace is the shrinking minority, and very few possess grace—even fewer know compassion.
