Relax, Y'all. Beyoncé is Still Coming to Support Kamala Harris... (Maybe)

Was Kamala Harris overshadowed by Beyoncé? Nah! But the possible presence of Queen Bey at the Democratic National Convention was on the mind of everyone last night except Beyoncé, who likely was watching from a yacht somewhere thinking, 'Y'all crazy!' Let's get into it.

All week-long people had been wondering if Beyoncé would make an appearance at the DNC. I mean, if she were going to be there, it would be on the night Harris accepted the nomination. So as the night unfolded, people were on the edge of their seats anticipating it. And they had good reason to think it might happen, TMZ reported that "sources" (lol) confirmed Beyoncé would indeed be there. But as the last speaker spoke—poor North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper—everyone suddenly realized it wasn't going to happen.

Shortly before Harris was to speak, The Hollywood Reporter reported an actual source, Beyoncé's representative, confirmed she would not be in attendance. "Beyoncé was never scheduled to be there... The report of a performance is untrue."

This is an epic and rare fail on TMZ's part. But it also goes to show you the level of excitement around Harris. The week went so well that people just expected the most famous woman in the world would definitely want to be there, right? Things got so out of hand that on X, formerly Twitter, people started openly suggesting that Taylor Swift would be there. Some even went so far to say former President George W. Bush would be there. (Like, y'all really think a Republican former president is going to be at the DNC? Seriously?)

Even though Beyoncé wasn't there IRL, her presence looms large on the Harris campaign, and not just because her song "Freedom" plays everywhere Harris goes (with permission, thank you very much). You see, this wild DNC moment just puts more pressure on Beyoncé to appear with Harris. And considering Beyoncé previously did rallies for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, you can pretty much guarantee she's going to appear with Harris at some point. So just relax y'all, Beyoncé is coming.

Make sure you listen to today's Parting Shot podcast because we're breaking down everything from this week at the DNC. (And talking a lot about Beyoncé, of course.)

That's it for me today. I'll be back on Monday. In the meantime, keep scrolling, and have a great weekend!

Prince William's Biggest Scandals

By Jack Royston

Prince William has been engulfed in a number of past public storms, from racism allegations to an awkward breakup with Princess Kate.

Prince Harry argued in his memoir that he had been sacrificed as the Spare to save his brother's squeaky clean reputation, though Britain's next king has still had his crisis moments. Tabloids nicknamed him "Work-shy Wills," animal rights groups accused him of hypocrisy and, as recently as this year, marriage gossip entered the mainstream via Stephen Colbert. See all the biggest scandals the royal has faced below.
