What's the biggest story coming out of last night's Golden Globes? Sure, Emilia Pérez and The Brutalist winning the Best Picture prizes was big, but that's not the main story. Nor is Nikki Glaser's incredible performance as host, although that was fantastic. No, the biggest story coming out of the 82nd Golden Globes is the return of Demi Moore.
Moore won Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) for her performance in The Substance, a surprise that many had hoped would happen, but worried wouldn't come true. You see, The Substance isn't your typical film to win awards. It's effectively a monster film with a message. But it's Moore's performance that makes the movie bigger than it is, and the fact that people are recognizing that makes her win the biggest story out of the Golden Globes.
With that said, another big story from last night is how poorly Wicked did. It only took home one award, for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. I still think the film will do well at the Oscars, but it's not going to win Best Picture. (Sorry for the bad news, I'm just doing my job here.)
